Optical Fibre Modules Increase Ruggedness and ESD Protection
Designed to support SERCOS, Interbus
and PROFIBUS standards, Avago’s
Fieldbus optical fibre transmitter and
receiver modules are offering enhanced
ruggedness and protection against ESD.
The HFBR-15x5/25xxmodules employ full-metal
housing and connectors, and offer high levels of
ESD protection to guard against the growing
levels of electrical noise and interference found in
harsh, industrial networking environments.
Based on 650nm wavelengths, the new
components will be available with SMA and ST
connector ports and are compatible with 1mm
Plastic Optical Fibre (POF) or 200µm Hard-Clad
Silica (HCS) fibre. Additionally, modules in the
HFBR-15x5/25xx series feature data-rate ranges of
either DC to 10MBd or DC to 16MBd.
Avago’s new all-metal fibre optic industrial
transmitters/receivers will be available in four
variations. Themodules offer an operating
temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, and
provide excellent RFI/EMI shielding.
