Compact ESD Protection Cuts Capacitance and Leakage Current



 


The VBUS053AZ-HAF is a compact ESD-protection array featuring low typical capacitance of 0.7pF and low maximum leakage current down to 0.085µA in order to protect USB-OTG ports against damaging voltage transients.

Vishay’s new USB-OTG bus-port protection array is provided in an LLP75-7L leadless package with a 0.6mm profile and compact footprint for board-space savings when implementing active ESD protection in high-speed data applications. The package includes three lines of USB ESD protection with a 5.5V working range, and one line of bus-voltage protection with a 12V working range.

The VBUS053AZ-HAF offers a low maximum clamping voltage of less than 4.1V at 3A for the data lines, and less than 30V at 8A for the bus-voltage line. The bus-port protection array provides transient protection in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-5.
