Single Chip Drives Power LEDs Up to 2A
The SP7000 is a non-synchronous voltage-mode
PWM step-down converter.
It is optimised for driving high-power
LEDswith up to 2A of
continuous current.
A wide 4.5V to 29V input-voltage
range allows for single-supply
operation fromindustry-standard 5V,
12V or 24V power rails.
A 1.2MHz constant operating
frequency allows operation with smaller
external components; and internal control-loop
compensation reduces the LED system’s overall
component count. As well as cutting the PCB
space required by external components, the
SP7600 itself is offered in a compact thermally-enhanced
8-pin SO package.
With a 2.5% output set-point accuracy
and input feed-forward control, the
SP7600 also improves stability as well
as transient and regulation
responses. Dimming and
shutdownmodes are provided
via an enable function when
required. Programmable overcurrent
and under-voltage lockout
protection ensures safe operation under
abnormal operating conditions.
