The MPC8536E PowerQUICC® III is a
low-power, high-performance
embedded processor based on a
computation-intensive super-scalar
PowerPC processor core.
High-performance system peripherals and
advanced power-management techniques are
integrated onto the processor to minimise its
power consumption.
The processor integrates multi-lane PCI
Express, Gigabit Ethernet, SATA, USB, and a
DDR-memory controller to support increased
data bandwidths without requiring a large
amount of board space.
The integration of vector and double-precision
floating-point processing engines
makes the MPC8536E ideal for
mathematically-intensive applications such as
printing, imaging, and industrial computing.
With the ability to
process and transfer
large amounts of
data, the MPC8536E
is also optimised for
control and dataplane
applications
such as routers,
switches, wireless
base-stations, and
storage networks.
