High-compression voice-synthesis IC enables extended playback
ROHM’s BU6930FV is a voice synthesis
IC which can play back highly-compressed
voice/audio data stored in
an external SPI-interface ROM, using
commands from a serial interface or
from the pins.
A maximum of two channels of voice/audio
data can be decoded and played back
simultaneously. A one-channel version is also
available with part number BU6929FV.
The BU6929FV and BU6930FV feature a 16-bit
DAC core for CD-quality sound, whilst the
BU6930FV also offers twice the playback time of
conventional products due to its compression
technology. In addition, the two-channel
simultaneous playback capability delivers rich,
high-fidelity sound reproduction. Both devices
feature auto fade-in/fade-out functionality for
smooth voice synthesis.
