Highly-integrated devices simplify optical sens
SensorEyeC devices from Melexis
are integrated light sensors with a
photodiode, transimpedance amplifier,
output transistor and temperature
compensation in one chip. The
SensorEyeC series is designed to
simplify optical sensing and minimise
the use of external components.
The SensorEyeC series features a patented
package technology that combines high
robustness (including 260°C solder reflow) with
an undisturbed optical path. Two open-cavity
packages are available: SOIC8 and a DFN
package that measures 3mm x 3mm x 0.65mm.
There are also two temperature-range versions
available: -20°C to 85°C and -40°C to 125°C.
The SensorEyeC series comprises the
MLX75303, MLX75304 and MLX75305. The
MLX75303 is an easy-to-use Schmitt-Trigger
output light sensor that features a light-saturation
robustness factor of 1000 to compensate for dirt.
The MLX75304 converts
light intensity into an
output frequency, and
features a highly-linear
response over a
dynamical light input
range of more than
100dB. The MLX75305
converts light intensity
into an output voltage.
All SensorEyeC
components have
continuous operation
lifetime qualified to over
15 years. AEC-Q100 qualified versions for
automotive applications are also available.
