Broad choice and high performance in multi-port memories
Designers can choose from more than
160 synchronous and asynchronous
dual-port SRAMs from Cypress
Semiconductor for inter-processor
communications and single-processor
companion memory, with a variety of
densities and bus widths to suit
processor and system parameters.
Within the Cypress portfolio, the latest FullFlex™
family provides built-in features that simplify board
design and support high-bandwidth data transfers
between processing elements. These include
Double Data Rate (DDR) capability, which doubles
system throughput without increasing pin count.
Other features include variable impedance
matching, deterministic access control, selectable
I/O standards and echo clocks. Burst counters and
collision-detection features also help designers
manage and optimise data exchanges.
FullFlex dual-port SRAMs also deliver high
performance as companion memory in single-processor
configurations. By operating at
frequencies up to 250MHz, they can provide
36Gbit/s of dedicated memory bandwidth
independent of the system read-to-write ratio.
A variety of bus widths are available, including
x72 devices offering easy interoperability with 64-bit
processors. Other bus widths available are x8,
x9, x16, x18 and x36. FullFlex devices are also pin-compatible
with previous generations of Flex-family
dual-ports from Cypress, allowing legacy
designs to quickly take advantage of the
enhanced FullFlex feature set.
