More energy from wet tantalum capacitors

For use in harsh environments where high capacitance values and compact dimensions are required, the Vishay HE3 family of wet tantalum capacitors combines several advanced technologies to deliver a valuable performance increase.

Together, the unique case design, new anode configurations, and Vishay’s proven SuperTan® hybrid-cathode technology realise the industry’s highest capacitance per unit volume. HE3 series capacitors offer capacitance from 3300µF up to 72,000µF in circular case styles measuring up to 35.56mm diameter by 15.6mm height. Further benefits include low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of 0.035Ω at 25°C and 1kHz. This maximises energy delivery while maintaining low losses and low heat dissipation.

The all-tantalum case incorporates a glass-to-tantalum hermetic seal, allowing HE3 capacitors to withstand high stress and hazardous environments. The devices are rated for operation from –55°C to 85°C, and can operate up to 125°C with voltage derating.

The HE3 series wet tantalum capacitor was chosen as a winner of the 2007 Product of the Year awards by the journal, Electronic Products China.
